Is India's film and cultural extravaganza, the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), becoming a global phenomenon? Set to kick off in Goa on November 20, the festival boasts over 270 films in a 10-day span. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur unveiled this cinematic spectacle in New Delhi, highlighting India's media and entertainment industry's rise to the fifth-largest market worldwide, with a remarkable 20 percent annual growth in recent years. The international section of IFFI has seen a threefold increase in entries, featuring 13 world premieres, 18 international premieres, 62 Asia premieres, and 89 India premieres. Moreover, with the surging popularity of OTT platforms, the newly introduced OTT awards are recognizing India's thriving content creation industry, but will it further cement IFFI's status on the global cinematic map?
